Pre-Hike

Well the days are ticking down and I'm getting pretty excited to start this next adventure of my life. I apologize ahead of time for anyone reading this blog. I'm an engineer and a pretty piss poor writer, but if you wanna follow my experience along the way with some pictures and writing, I'm happy to have ya.

As I write this I have 6 days until I start hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which will encompass the next 4-5 months of my life. I had it all planned out that I'd graduate college, head back to the Vail Valley, ski until the mountain closes and then train for the PCT. Unfortunately, I hurt myself skiing and haven't been able to prepare nearly as much as I should have. But in the mean time, it's been great to see friends and family before I take off.

I'll be hiking the first 11 days by myself and then my buddy AJ from Vail will be joining me for the rest of the trip. That is if we can stand each other for that long. Some other friends and family are also joining us for sections of the trail.

I'm gonna dedicate this hike to my boy Danny McBroom who tragically lost his life soon after we graduated college a little more than a month ago. Cheese Curd (Danny) was planning on joining me for a section of the hike. Love you tons buddy and not a day goes by where I don't miss your crazy ass.

Well here's to starting the PCT and the adventures to come. Cheers.
